The wonderful world of climate change is always front and center these days and many drink the Kool-Aid.
Climate change has been with us here since Earth has existed because here is the first fact: Climate does indeed change. It has changed while I am writing this article.
Back in the 70s the climate gurus predicted another ice age. When that didn’t come true they switched to global warming. When that didn’t work the just threw in the towel and made it “Climate Change.”
This is now their new religion and another ploy to control us all. I get a kick out of how vain so many people are who think that you are so powerful that you can be a major influence on the global climate. Get over yourselves.
Many years ago we had an ice age and then it changed and warmed. We didn’t start the ice age and certainly didn’t end it. One volcanic eruption can put more pollution in the air than all the cars in America put out in a year.
Over 40 years ago Al Gore (the inventor of the internet) made several well thought out predictions. Here are just a few.
1. Sea levels are rising at an alarming rate – Al Gore predicted that sea levels could rise 6 meters (20 feet) with the melting of the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets. Didn’t happen. Google it if you don’t believe me. The Antarctic and Greenland are still there.
2. Severe tornadoes are increasing – Very strong F3+ tornadoes have been declining for over 60 years. Hmmmmm.
3. Polar bears are dying – There are more polar bears now than 50 years ago. Their population doubled since 1965. Opps, more dastardly facts.
4. The Arctic is melting – Al Gore predicted its complete melting for 2014. Uhhhh….that didn’t happen.
Actually the North Pole is gaining ice, and 2015 saw the largest refreezing in over a decade. Shucks…more facts.
Here are some other “predictions” made over 40 years ago by some other climate geniuses. I quote:
.– Kenneth Watt, an ecologist who also cautioned against global cooling and also said, “At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable.”
“…civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.” –George Wald, Harvard biologist
“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next 10 years.” – Paul Ehrlich, April 1970 Mademoiselle magazine
“Scientists have solid experimental and theoretical evidence to support…the following predictions: In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution…by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half…” – January 1970 Life magazine
“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation.” – Denis Hayes, chief organizer for Earth Day, in the Spring 1970 issue of The Living Wilderness.
None of these predictions were even close to being correct but the climate zealots don’t care about facts.
The reality is that scientists have been getting it wrong most of the time with their silly theoretical models. We have gone thru many expensive changes, like refrigerants destroying the ozone layer, which all of the refrigerants manufactured to date don’t equal one Volcano’s output of harmful gases.
Now the elites want us to spend more on this nonsense. Let the masses follow the blind off the cliff.
I find it hard to believe that people don’t understand the truth that so called climate geniuses have been getting it wrong as long as we have been alive. If the people understood that these study’s come from grants, and if nothing is found wrong, then no more money.
As usual these academic clowns are always going to find more to study. It called cash flow and job preservation. This is simply about income redistribution on a global level.
That makes us all suckers if we buy into this charade. Why is it that when these predictions prove to be false that they never go back to the genius and question them? We just move on like it was never predicted and we just fight climate change harder using updated phony predictions that are claimed to be gospel.
Should we all be good stewards of the environment….absolutely. However, let’s use some common sense and stick to real facts (not made up “facts”) and not blowhard guesses.
Remember, the real agenda is to control the economy and thus control us. Go outside after you read this and force the temperature to be just 1 degree cooler since you have so much power. Concentrate hard or you could just wait until the sun goes down.
